On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of their classic debut album George Best, The Wedding Present will be releasing a re-recorded version of the album, fittingly titled George Best 30 (GB30).

Recorded pretty much live off the floor with producer Steve Albini back in 2008 while he was working on the band’s El Rey album, the updated version of the album sounds great and just as vital as ever. Check out the new version of “Shatner” below.

GB30 is out September 22nd on HHBTM Records.

The first day back at work after a long weekend can always be a little rough, and the day after Labour Day can seem especially so, what with it being the unofficial end of summer.

Thankfully, Alex Lahey’s got the right idea – make every day the weekend! If you’re having a case of the Mondays on a Tuesday, give “Every Day’s The Weekend” a listen:

Song Of The Day: Filthy Friends – Despierta

Supergroup alert!

Filthy Friends is the new project from Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney), Peter Buck (REM), Kurt Bloch (Fastbacks), Bill Rieflin (Ministry, King Crimson), Linda Pitmon (The Baseball Project, Steve Wynn & The Miracle 3) and Scott McCaughey (the Minus Five, Young Fresh fellows). When the musicians involved have that kind of pedigree, you can be pretty sure you’re going to get something good.

Filthy Friends’ debut album Invitation is out now via Kill Rock Stars. “Despierta,” the first single off the album, was originally released as part of the anti-Trump project 30 Songs For 30 Days and it is indeed something good. Give it a listen:
