“OGO” is the debut single from London sax and drums duo O.

Since forming during the first Covid lockdown, the band has gone out on tour with black midi and just a few days ago, they played the London edition of the Pitchfork Music Fest alongside Black Country, New Road. So it’s safe to say they’re already making a bit of a name for themselves despite only just having released one single.

“OGO” is out now digitally via Speedy Wunderground and will be released as a limited edition 7″ on January 13.

Song of the Day: Hedvig Mollestad & Trondheim Jazz Orchestra – On the Horizon, part 2

Norwegian guitarist Hedvig Mollestad first came to our attention here at Panic Manual with “Bewitched, Dwarfed And Defeathered” off of her 2019 album Smells Funny, recorded alongside her trio.

Mollestad’s musical prowess and adventurousness were quite evident on that release and she’s since continued down that path, with her latest release Maternity Beat, recorded with the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra (who have also worked with the likes of Chick Corea and Joshua Redman), serving as the next stop in her musical journey.

“On the Horizon, part 2”, the latest single off of the upcoming album, sees Mollestad’s jazz-meets-math rock guitar work augmented by the stellar sounds of the 9-piece Trondheim Jazz Orchestra. Check it out.

Maternity Beat is out November 18 via Rune Grammofon.

Plains is the collaborative project of Katie Crutchfield and Jess Williamson and the fruit of that collaboration, I Walked With You A Ways, is a lovely bit of country pop that showcases the duo’s songwriting talents. “Hurricane” is just one of many highlight off the album. Check it out below.
