Just when you thought Partner couldn’t get any better, the band goes ahead and covers Rush.

Yes, Partner has taken on the quintessential Toronto power trio (sorry, Triumph) for the latest installment of the Polaris Cover Sessions. And in a nice nod to the video for the original version of the track, Partner has also placed a couple of conga drums in the studio which are never once used over the course of the tune.

“Patterns Prevail”, the latest single from Young Guv (aka Ben Cook of Fucked Up and No Warning fame), is a refreshing blast of fuzzy power pop that brings to mind vintage Teenage Fanclub. Check it out.

Young Guv’s GUV I is out now on Run For Cover Records.

As we enter the waning days of summer, let’s pause and take a moment to appreciate one of the finer things about summertime – ice cream.

Salted caramel ice cream is a delightful taste sensation and similarly, the song “Salted Caramel Ice Cream” by English electronic group Metronomy is also a delight to the senses. Enjoy.

Song Of The Day: Sleeper – More Than I Do

When Britpoppers Sleeper returned this year with a new album, it was a welcome return for fans of the band’s ’90s output. And in naming their first release in over 20 years The Modern Age, the band seemed to be acknowledging that this was the start of a new chapter in their career, albeit one that also picks up from where they left off in many ways.

“More Than I Do”, the latest single off the new album, proves that modern Sleeper fits in quite nicely alongside the classic Sleeper tracks. Check out the video for “More Than I Do” below.
