Song of the Day: Fossil Collective – Let it Go

fossil_collective

I am not quite sure how I feel about the band name Fossil Collective. Whenever I see that name, I think it’s bands comprising of members from Animal Collective and Beach Fossils. However, this band is not that. Instead, Fossil Collective is a band from Leed’s featuring David Fendick and Jonny Hooker. They write pleasant songs. The best way I can describe the song Let it Go is that it sounds like something Zach Braff would have listened to and then immediately write a scene for in that new movie of his. You know, the one he is trying to get all the people who felt that Garden State defined their lives to pay for. Acoustic, harmony, folky ..so I guess it sounds a bit like the Shins. Not a bad thing, their debut album Tell Where I Lie was released last month. Check it out.
