What’s better than southern-grown bluegrass in a Texas-barbeque-bar? Not a lot. But bonus points if you can achieve both things while never leaving the Yankee-style-comfort offered by the great cities of Washington, DC and New York City.

I was lucky enough to live the dream at Hill Country in our nation’s (read: American readers’) capital while seeing Go Down Moses. The delightful band, hailing from Nashville, lit up the downstairs bar with their folksy-indie-rocky tunes including original tracks such as “Southbound Train” and awesome covers like 1975’s “Chocolate.”

The group is touring the east coast this season, with shows scheduled in New York, North Carolina, and later performances at summer festivals in the U.S. Definitely check these guys out. They are cute, talented, personable, and make awesome music. You won’t be disappointed.
