“Gimme a beer.”
That’s probably a phrase that you’re likely to hear at some point this March during SXSW. After all, with the countless parties going on during the day, there will certainly be no lack of beer. “Gimme A Beer” is also the name of a song by “supergroup” Diamond Rugs, featuring members of Deer Tick, Dead Confederate, Black Lips, Six Finger Satellite and Los Lobos. It’s a pretty good song, though considering the pedigree of the band members, that’s hardly a surprise.
And most importantly, this track features a lyrical reference to the Geto Boys’ classic “Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta.” The Office Space fan in me approves.
