Diplo - Shake it / Over and Over

Lets face it, Hot Chip’s Over and Over is an awesome, awesome, awesome song. It is hard to make it better, this mashup/remix just adds some rap to it. Is it any better? no. I can see this in concert..the band is there doing ‘Over and over’, then this black dude comes from no where and is all like ‘yo put all yall hands in the air!’ and then raps during his parts, then says ‘yea’ after every other line when its not his part. Either way, this remix isnt too bad, but its not the original, which shouldnt be tampered with.

Justice - D.A.N.C.E (Tittsworth Remix)

Nothing special, i can’t say its better then the orignal. It might be more danceable, seems a bit more chopped up then I like

!!! - Must be the Moon (Hot Chip Remix)

I expected this to be great, since Hot Chip is awesome. It is a lot heavier on the bass , but I don’t think it rocks out as much. It is probably two minutes too long. If they cutted out some of the lulls in the middle and just had the outro a lil faster, then you’d have something.

Justin Timberlake - Love Stoned (Justice Remix)

Now this is a good remix, one that is better then the original. The original song had a good beat, but this song adds more funk song and adds strings. Strings!

Cold War Kids - Hang Me Up To Dry (Ingo Star Cruiser Remixes)

Orignally, this song was pretty average to recieve the hype that it did. This remix makes it better by making it not-boring.

Toronto - man, this song is awesome. I can’t believe Ian Brown wrote this song. Maybe it was sinead o’connor (who guest sings). Either way, I thought Brownie was done. However, this tune sheds some light at the end of the tunnel.

Ian Brown - Illegal Attacks

Toronto - Apparantly, Incredible Hulk is filming in Toronto (Ed Norton, William Hurt, Liv Tyler, etc). Anyways, this is interesting..kinda:

Extras needed for Hulk

also..

The biggest spectacle, though, is apparently yet to come. According to a typo-heavy post on Comic Book Resources, Yonge Street will be dolled up to look like New York and––from College to Dundas––will be closed for filming between September 17 and 19 for (spoiler alert!) “the final fight scene between The Abomination and The Hulk.” Apparently, the Canon Theatre will also be made up to look like the Apollo.

1. Tegan and Sara

Lesbian sisters come out with a strong album. I haven’t really been a fan of theirs before, but this album is good. Track #2 is ace (Relief next to me). Plus they got rid of those ugly butch haircuts they were sporting and now look kinda cute.

2. Rodrigo Y Gabriela

Two Mexicans on acoustic guitars, making good music. Great for them, maybe they’ll get lucky and get immigration papers from some country. They are pretty hype right now, but they are quite swell.

3. Richard Hawley

Former Pulp/Longpigs member comes back with another strong crooner album. Who said Britpop was dead?

4. Shout out Louds

Swedish band who grew probably grew up listening to 90s Cure. Because they sound exactly like that.

5. Spoon

One of the best albums this years, with one of the worse album titles of the year.

6. New Pornographers

Easily my most listened to album of the summer.

7. Jens Lekman

Another Swede, this album is absolutely fantastic. Very poppy.

8. St. Vincent

Still frequently listen to this album.

9. Buffalo Tom/Rosie Thomas/The Coral

Three different types of bands, yet I listen to them all the same.
