What a great pop track by this Glasgow band on Domino Records. Jangily guitars, melodic hooks. First album is due out soon.

Great jangily indiepop 7 Inch released last week in the UK from these 5 girls who formed their band in Nacka a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden in 2005. Those Dancing Days is a “mixture of girl group charm, Northern Soul and Hammond driven pop”. This is their first single called Those Dancing Days. Their second single called Hitten is just as good. They are releasing their stuff off Witchita, record label and home to Los Campesinos, and Peter Bjorn and John. I’m quite hyped on this band. Now if they could only make it to Toronto!

Anyone remember Betty Boo? Had some massive club singles back in the early nineties including Doin The Do.

Well she is back with a revitalized 2000 sound and a fantastic new track called Take Off. Check out the video below

Okay…maybe this isn’t really a video of the week column……I got alittle lazy there and missed last week..but its going to be worth it. This week I throw out an excellent little tune by the Silversun Pickups. They just released their third single a week ago called Lazy Eye which is definately an indiepop hit. Its off their full length CD/LP called Carnavas. The band is from Los Angeles and features lots of droning guitars. Check the video out

Great new track by Candie Payne called One More Chance….produced and remixed by Mark Ronson…nice indiepop track…sorta reminds me of Camera Obscura…full length 12 track album was just rereleased last month and is called I Wish I Could Have Loved You More. It features the new Mark Ronson mix. Other singles include I Wish I Could Have Loved You More, All I Need To Hear, and Take Me.

Well I missed last week but there wasn’t really anything truly exciting out last week so I got lazy….but here it is…a new week and a great new track by rapper Talib Kweli….his new album is getting rave reviews from the critics and this first single is HOT…check it out…its called Hot Thing and is off his new album Eardrum…great video too
