Song Of The Day: Haus Band – She Belongs To Me

unnamed (15)

It’s Victoria Day here in Canada, a national holiday in honour of Queen Victoria’s birthday, but perhaps more importantly, it’s also Bob Dylan’s birthday. And while no holidays have been established (yet) in honour of Mr. Zimmerman, Art Brut frontman Eddie Argos is among those paying tribute to ol’ Bobby D. with a cover of “She Belongs To Me” from his new project Haus Band.

In explaining his love for Dylan, Argos describes him as “not just an amazing lyricist, he’s also an hilarious dude. A lo fi punk rock motherf*cker that seems to do whatever he pleases, which are all qualities that I look for in new friends.”

Among those new friends are Argos’ neighbours and now bandmates Olga Karatzioti-B. and Leonard Kaage, who came together with Argos and made good use of their lockdown time to create a whole album of Bob Dylan covers. No word yet on the full tracklisting, but if the rest of the album is anything like “She Belongs To Me”, I’m looking forward to it.
