It’s hard to believe that Conor Oberst is only 32. It seems like the man has been around forever. Between his work as a solo artist, in Bright Eyes, in Desaparecidos or in the super band Monsters of Folk, it is safe to say that Conor Oberst has been one of the most prolific songwriters in the past decade. Perhaps best known for his work in Bright Eyes, Conor has quietly released a few solo albums as well. Considering he has not released anything under the “Conor Oberst” brand in a few years, his most recent tour would come as a bit of a surprise, but considering the fact that the dude’s been basically touring for half his life, he probably doesn’t know how to do any different (think old person wallowing about in his home after a forced retirement). It’s a depressing thought, which is perfect for when you are going to a Conor Oberst show.
Anyways, from what I read on Frank’s concert/contest post, this tour is more of tour that represents his entire body of work, so diehard fans will most definitely be pleased.
It should be noted that Cold Specks is opening and Massey Hall seems like the perfect venue for Al Spx and her mighty voice. Read our interview with her here.
