Toronto – Not quite sure if this peaceful track from Seattle band Ivan & Alyosha is an ironic Christian folk song but the lyrics sure make for an interesting listen. Nice harmonics, the use of a harmonica and wicked lyrics such “Glorify the lord my son, with your whiskey and your gun” make this folk tune a lovely listen on a warm June afternoon. I can almost visualize sitting in a park, nice fruity drink in hand and watching this band sing away the afternoon. While you won’t really be able to see ivan & Alyosha in this setting, you can see them as a part of NXNE festival on June 18 at Lee’s Palace.
