Toronto – Lush, soft, surprisingly complex while still feeling natural all at the same time. These are words you would normally use to describe an afro, but you can also use these words to describe Toronto band The Wilderness of Manitoba. A five piece bands that relies on harmonies and layered vocal arrangements, the Wilderness of Manitoba has made a slow and steady rise in the past few years. The band will be at CMW this year in celebration of their US release of their album When You Left The Fire. I don’t know how, and I probably always mention this, but these guys have magically become one of my most seen bands. While typically not my style of music (no synth or British accent), I’ve always enjoyed their music as a lazy Sunday afternoon distraction and it’s perfectly suited for those days when you don’t want your apartment to resemble a night club. Go check them out
Wilderness of Manitoba is playing TONIGHT @ 20:30 at Lee’s Palace as part of Canadian Music Week
I previously thought they were playing SXSW. I was wrong. Here’s a song, as an apology. You can even download it and not feel guilty about stealing music, because it is free.
