Toronto – Why did I watch the Grammys last night? I don’t know. Happy Valentines Day.
Wavelength 11
No longer a weekly series, Wavelengths went out with a bang last year, but much like Brett Favre, have come back to entertain us once again. They have come back with a mini festival of sorts, starting on Wednesday night and ending on Sunday. A host of of top notch of local acts will be playing, including Woodhands, Maylee Todd, Hooded Fang and Lullabye Arkestra
Here’s a poster of the show, so I don’t have to type out everything

Interpol, School of Seven Bells
Feb 15, Sound Academy
As much as I loved Interpol‘s first two albums, and School of Seven Bells I L U song, I won’t be making it to the dreaded Sound Academy for this show. Interpol’s most recent album is growing slowly on me, the song Barricade is pretty good and I’ve seen them four times so I can vouch for them when I say they always put on a stellar show. I’ve never seen School of Seven Bells before, but Allison has and she enjoyed it.

Biffy Clyro
Garrison, Feb 16
Biffy Clyro are one of the biggest bands in England and yet few people seem to know about them here. They are playing the freaking Garrison. Is this weird? yes. Will there be a lot of British people there? Yes. Will they be surprised at the lack of English ale’s at the Garrison? yes. Will they all be in oversized leather jackets or track jackets? yes. Will those same people partake in man-grinding? yes. Do I not know what Biffy Clyro sounds like and instead of describing them, put out a bunch of stereotypes about ex-pats at concerts in Canada? yes.

Wild Nothing
February 17th, Wrongbar
For this next post, I’ve adapted journalism methods used by esteemed news sites such as CNN and the National Post. I’ve crowd sourced my article so that I actually don’t have to write anything about the Wild Nothing show, besides link to their page, which really, just enhances SEO for me just a little bit.

Jenn Grant
Horseshoe Tavern, Feb 19
Jenn Grant might have put out the cutest video so far this year and the Halifax born and bred singer songwriter will be in town on Saturday to perform that song and many others, including tracks off her new album Honeymoon Punch. Expect a good toe tapping, shoulder shaking time. I’ve been using the word “toe tappin” to describe music since I heard Wade used it for his CBC Radio 3 Track of the Day introduction. Sorry mang.
These are all the shows that interest us for this week. Have a pleasant week and don’t forget to vote for us for the CBC Radio 3 Searchlight contest!
