I felt I should revive this by exclaiming that everyone saying Toronto was a Police State during the G20 ought to visit Pyongyang, Rangoon, or an actual Police State.

No wonder we are labelled as whiners.

The G20 doesn't really make us any better or worse in the grander scheme of things. I think we need to be content with what we are--that is, Canada's largest city. We enjoy all the pros and cons of that, end of story. The fact that many bands choose to endure the hassle of a border crossing JUST to play our city says a lot.

Toronto is the best city in the world. Fact.
Which is why it was so depressing what happened this weekend.
I want to go back to it being the best city in the world.
