Toronto – We all know what’s around the corner, and that is North By Northeast. We will get to the music aspect of this festival later on this week. For now, let’s focus on something happening this weekend.
Every year, NXNE puts on a charity football match called “Put The Boot In”. It is a charity football match that pits the musicians versus the media. This year, it takes place on June 20th at BMO field, so the game takes place on the smokin new grass field.
This year, of course, is a little more important because yours truly, is participating in the game. If you know me or read this blog or twitter at all, you will know I’m as obsessed with sports as I am with music, so it’s quite exhilarating to be playing on BMO’s grass field this weekend. You can still sponsor me by going to Right To Play’s sponsor page here.
What will be even more interesting is that I’ll be turning 30 the night before, and thus, will be having quite a party (nostalgia! dance cave!). I am hoping that I’ll be in pretty okay shape by 1:00 pm est on the Sunday.
Participants for this game include members of Broken Social Scene, The High Dials, Fucked Up and Great Big Sea among others.
Hopefully, we’ll see some of you there on Sunday!
