Toronto – Wow, 2009 isn’t even over and the folks at Canadian Music Fest have already jumped the gun by announcing their 2010 lineup. The full lineup can be found here. Ticket information are here, early prices are 60$ which is pretty good for five nights of music.

Here are some notable acts on the list

  • The Rural Alberta Advantage – could 2009 have been any better for these guys? They’ll be looking to take that next step in 2010, the step that allows them to all buy houses almost near downtown Toronto.
  • Joel Plaskett – As he prepares to shred some guitar with Thrush Hermit, this too might be your last chance to see the gentle side of Mr. Plaskett for the next few months, so get your fill while you can.
  • Great Lake Swimmers – I think every girl will jump on any chance to gaze into Tony Dekker’s eyes as he slowly undresses them in his mind with his smooth blend of acousticky folk music.
  • Speech Debelle – who? This women won the Mercury Prize. She’s got some words of wisdom for you, in the form of rap music. Get away from your usual guitar rock schtick and listen to this women spit out some lyrical poetry.
  • Constantines – This is about the 80th show they are playing between December and March, but don’t look for these guys to phone it in in their home town. Maybe some small town, but never Toronto.
  • Elephant Stone – They are good. There’s a sitar, they named themselves after a Stone Roses tune. Need I say more?
  • Our Lady Peace – If you missed them during high school, I guess now’s better late then never. They might be the butt of a lot of jokes now, but you probably have Clumsy in your cd collection somewhere. Maybe Naveed as well.
