Play some Sunparlour Playerrrrrs…

As a former podcast mainstay (and you guys have CLEARLY already forgotten all about me) my favourite album of 2009 is, bar none, Yppah’s “They Know What Ghost Know.”

Also, what the hell happened to Ricky’s microphone in the section after Aretha?

Also, an hour and twenty minutes? Really? You really need to bring in an off-mike moderator or something. That or do two 40 minute podcasts a month. C’mon. It’s time.

Beach House = Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally. Their new album being released in January is called Teen Dream. Should be a good one.

Brian, we didn’t forget about you. Yet. How’s it going over there? Is it truly the land of chocolate?

My friend Corey listened to the podcast. He emailed me his comments. He isn’t computer literate enough to do comments.

Diamond Rings = awesomeness
Ricky works (how very teacherly of you to frame the debate & or pose the question in the manner you did a.k.a. calling him on his shit, ha)
Should a band’s music sound different live?
I paid 500$ to see Radiohead (that’s all Csas would allow me to pay him so I’ve no idea what he actually paid)
You didn’t stay @ the Nouveau Forum because…
The Balconies R-O-C-K
The Rakes… o.k.
I enjoyed Twilight (one of Thom Yorke’s new solo songs is slated to appear on the sequel’s soundtrack)
Grizzly Bear + Beach House = do you hear the Beta Band @ all?
How familiar are you with Grizzly Bear (I can’t say enough though it’s definitely not the type of music that I’ve been able to fully digest after the first listen)
I need to use the word superb more often
“Are you gonna play a Girls song (eh to move things along Greedy)?”
It’s taken me this long to admit… I kinda like Girls (some nice guitar licks)
I love my Big It Up toque (someone commented on it recently)
Big L refers to his pecker as his ’shilaly’ (Ricky thought the duo from Baltimore might be called shilaly – spelling?)
You are racist (I can’t believe you threw out the ‘A’ word)
Braids make my insides feel warm
Bloorvercourt (Ricky’s new place?)?
I really liked the intro to the Beach House track though I had trouble making the lyrics out @ times… is this simply another case of it being me (I wanted to be able where it’s about doin it)?
Finally, who’s the dude in the picture above the podcast link?

I’m impressed that Corey had the stomach to not only listen to this in entirety, but to provide running commentary.

Superb.
