Toronto – The Editors have a new album out, it is called In This Light And On This Evening. I haven’t gave it a listen yet so I can’t comment on it. I think the public likes it as it debut at #1 on the UK charts. I’ve always liked the Editors and I’m sure this will be good. However, this post isn’t about that, it’s about their website. Check out the URL here:

It’s some sort of mashup between street view and the album, and it’’s pretty cool. Go to the site and play around..it’s pretty damn cool. Here is how they did it:

“The experience was created by shooting custom panoramic photography. The panoramas were shot by photographer James Royall in multiple parts using a 180 degree fish-eye lens, and stitched together with PTGui software. The special edition of Google Maps uses a custom Flash wrapper which employs some clever hacks on top of the Google Maps and Street View APIs and was programmed by Davex. ”

One of the cooler band sites..check it out.
