Toronto – It’s hard to avoid The Gossip .. literally. Beth Ditto’s FU bravado, out of the world fashion choices and exit strategies have made her a media darling and it’s hard to avoid reading or seeing things about her when her band, The Gossip, decide its time to get some attention. As her dance floor killer ‘Standing in the way of control’ proved a few years ago, the band The Gossip certain has the chops to justify the attention they have been given. Two years after that single propelled to the cover of magazines, The Gossip are back once again with another simply kick ass single. “Heavy Cross” sounds like a song from an 80s montage, right down to the “ooooooooo ohhh whoooooa” lines generally spliced into the songs. Heavy on disco beats, this tune is guarantee summer dance floor filler and this remix, featuring Fred Falke is quite awesome. As per usual, Fred Falke doesn’t really tamper with the original song much, instead just subtly adding some nice synths to parts here or there. Check it out.

Love Fred Falke, he can do no remix wrong. Wasn’t super crazy about the original, but I def dig this.
Hello,
I really like the new single “Heavy Cross”. But it is very reminiscent to a 70’s disco song (that I can’t remember the name of). Can you please help me, is “Heavy Cross” based on another song?
probably a bee gees tune.
Sounds like The Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks.
