Game Developers Conference (GDC) is being held for the first time in Vancouver on May 12-13 and the Panic Manual’s West Coast staff will be in attendance to keep you in the loop on what the Canadian gaming industry is up to.
A relatively small conference compared to it’s sister event which took place in March, but big on Canadian content and keynote speeches from a few bigwigs. Here’s a quick preview of what to expect:
Keynote Speeches:
May 12 – The Evolution of the Canadian Game Industry: A Conversation with Don Mattrick Senior Vice President, Microsoft
May 13 – Emotionally Engaging Narrative: Gaming’s New Frontier with Dr. Ray Muzyka, Co-Founder, General Manager and CEO of BioWare and Dr. Greg Zeschuk, co-founder and vice president of BioWare
The exhibition portion consists of mainly Vancouver based developers, the biggest being Radical Entertainment who care currently developing the hotly tipped Prototype.
