Now I wish I had seen the TV series before I saw this movie. I'll have to look for it.

Hey, did anyone else notice the publicity picture I chose for this makes it look like Ben Affleck and Russell Crowe are sharing a "tender moment"? "Oh Ben, my heart, it only beats for you," said Russell...

I'm just afraid that this won't live up to the TV series. I'm also guessing Rachel McAdams makes a far less appealing Della than Kelly Macdonald

I hated what they did to the minseries here-- especially Crowe's take on Cal, which was essentially to play him as a grotesque, cartoonish collection of caveman Luddite tics. The "fifteen-year-old computer" was the last nail in the coffin: 1. When an office upgrades its computers, EVERYONE gets a new computer. If you want to work at home on some primitive piece of junk, please do. In the office, we have DEADLINES to hit. 2. Show me a fifteen-year-old PC that's in ANY kind of keep-up-with-the Joneses internet shape, and I'll show you a lovely piece of land I have for sale in Brooklyn. It has a bridge on it and everything. Crowe was a joke; McAdams was good, but Della was better when she was smart and capable as well as perky; and Helen Mirren was a million times better when she was Bill Nighy. Watch the original mini, and leave this Cliff's Notes retread on the shelf.
