Toronto – Now I’ve never quite been the biggest fan of Metric – mainly because both times I have seen them live, they seem to have put on sub par show and Emily Haines seems like a bitch at times. However, one of my early memories of Toronto included the first time I ever went to the Dance Cave, ‘Combat Baby’ was playing. So I guess I have some positive memories of them. As many of you know, Metric released their fourth album ‘Fantasies’ yesterday. Apparently, they are pretty big because they are on the top spot on Billboard’s heatseeker chart, whatever that means.
The most important thing you need to know is that their song ‘Help I’m Alive’ got remixed by the Brazillian duo The Twelves aka my favorite remixers (well..maybe aeroplanes, but its a tossup). Anything they seem to touch is gold, and this remix is pretty damn good.
Metric is playing some random Canadian cities over the next few weeks before going to Europe for the month of May.
