A couple of members were pretty obviously looking around at the rest of the band for cues at various points. Not that they looked like they didn't know what they were doing, just that they were looking for help with timing. And of course, Newman was no help, because he keeps his eyes shut tightly the whole time he's singing. I suspect you’re right, R.T. It's not for lack of talent, to be sure - Newman's touring band features members of Superchunk, Crooked Fingers and Nicole Atkins (the "Feist wannabe"). I'm looking forward to their Boston show.
