Toronto – We here at the Panic Manual are not a religious bunch, and we tend to stay away from all things Jesus and God and Blue Indian guy with eight arms related. However, it has been brought to my attention that there has been two songs with the title ‘Oh My God’ in recent times, so lets take a look at them.
Oh My God by Ida Maria
Ida Maria is a singer songwriter from the country of Norway (!) who has been described as a ‘twenty-something the Norwegian love child of Patty Smith and Joe Strummer’. Her album ‘Fortress Round My Heart’ is being released March 24th from Upper 11 Records. That’s TWO singers from Norway now (Annie being the other one). Her song ‘Oh My God’ is a song reflecting a personal struggles. Ida Maria will be opening for Glasvegas on her tour.

Oh My God by Kaiser Chiefs
Kaiser Chiefs are a Brit rock band that emerged almost five years ago (!!!) on the strength of two singles – Oh My God and I Predict a Riot. I think Tom loves them. Sadly, the quality of their music has decreased drastically since the release of the debut LP. I guess they have a guy named ‘Ricky’ in the band, which is always good. Their version of Oh My God is about something that I’m not entirely sure about. Maybe they were vacationing or something.
Which do you prefer?
