Danny Boyle is a great director,one of my favorites,and I really enjoyed this movie,even though it doesn’t remind me of City Of God (which is another great movie) but it reminds me of Millions.Both movies turn mostly around the concepts of money and what it makes people do,and are about two brothers that take separate paths and also,both movies have this nice little morale of ‘money ain’t so important’.

Yeah, I know you didn’t say it, just thought I’d mention it.

Not so much plot hole as it was me asking “uhm, what exactly is so special about this girl that he’s that freaking obsessed with her?” It was still a good movie, it just would’ve been better to me if there was some kind of connection established there beyond “we spent a night in the rain as kids together.”

I dunno, I saw it about six weeks ago and I thought Slumdog was just ok, maybe 3.5/5. The flashback events just kinda get more and more improbable, and there’s never really anything to indicate why Latika’s worth all this trouble or Jamaal’s obsession, except that she’s impossibly cute. She never really has any character development.

City of God is a way better movie.

Loved the movie.. interrogation style story telling reminded me of “Usual Suspects” and city development story reminded me of “City of God”, but holds it own as a unique story.
