Let me also add that Paul Weller has released 9 albums not including Style Council and Jam stuff. Not surprised he went heavy on his solo material.

I have to agree with the lad that can't stop laughing out loud. Weller was the best thing about Sunday. And the majority of those that were there didn't know who he was, and didn't care. For those of us that were there to see the Modfather, in the last 4 times I have seen him, and all in attendance with me agreed, we have never seen him put on a show like that. It was incredible vintage and new Weller. As for Oasis, one word, boring. Third time I have seen them, and nothing has changed excetp the fans, who have seemed to lost their way, when the Tragically Hip no longer played festivals. Now all the ball cap wearing, tobacco, hockey playing muscle heads seem to be at the Oasis show. I heard a conversation between two of them, about whether they should do quads or tris tomorrow at the gym. That personified the fan base. From that I don't expect to have you as a reviewer or them to appreciate the genius of real rock and roll.

Cheers.

"I actually went to check out the end of the Moby set. It was okay. Overall, very disappointed (kinda expected) set from the Modfather."

LOL!

You think the crowd was disappointed that Weller didn't play more Style Council and Jam stuff? WTF is that supposed to mean? I think - judging from a number of conversations I had with strangers - that crowd was full of mid-late 20-somethings who had never heard of him. Judging by their responses and the voluminous crush of assholes after Paul's set - they were all there to see Oasis (as you mentioned).

Having said that - fuck them, because Oasis were terrible. Liam is terribly whiny, their tunes all sound the same and the band gives fuck-all to their audience when they play.

The fact that you didn't enjoy what Weller and his new band played speaks volumes about your taste and your cred as a reviewer. They were the tightest, most high-energy, most versatile, most entertaining thing I saw at V-fest.

Hope you enjoyed Moby while he played MP3s or CDs, or whatever he does these days.
