Toronto – For the longest time, I thought the band ‘The Lodger‘ was from Sweden. It had all the sounds typical of a Swedish band – light and poppy sound, jangly type guitars and clear gentle vocals. You know, the type of music you would probably make when your country is populated by beautiful blonde girls. However, I was surprised to realise they were from Leeds, England. What! Yup. I don’t really know Leeds, so I am not sure what there is to be happy about – they don’t even have a EPL Team.
Anyways, their new album “Life is Sweet” features songs that resemble the jangly pop sounds of the 80s, and this song ‘The Good Ole Days’ is damn good. It makes me happy anyway. The album cover is …boring. But what can you expect these days.
I actually thought this might of been a Libertines cover or something when I first looked at the track listings.
