Toronto – Well, it’s summer. It’s time for them outdoor shows. This Sunday brings us the first festivalish show – Rogers Picnic. Whoever designed that webpage needs to be shot, as the Vampire Weekend song that plays can’t be stopped til about 30 seconds in. That is 30 seconds too long.

The lineup is quite strong this year, you got – Toronto lads Born Ruffians, TPC, The Carps(?) who all have a very toronto built in fanbase. You got the eclectic Animal Collective and hype kids Vampire Weekend who will bring out all the Pitchfork fanboys and internet bloggers. You got Chromeo and Dizzee Rascal for those a lil dance and electro, and finally you got Cat Power, who’ll bring out all the other people. Oh yea, City and Colour for the Muchmusic fans.

Either way, assuming everything is on schedule, I think a good time will be had by all.

Set order
1. The Carps
2. Born Ruffians
3. Dizzee Rascal
4. Vampire Weekend (vampires in the day? whaaaaa)
5. Animal Collective
6. Chromeo
7. TPC
8. Cat Power
9. City and Colour

The only crappy thing is that the sets are only going to 20 minutes long, with 40(!) minute breaks in between.

Whatever, at least I was able to get media passes for me and a friend.
