Although I’ve been aware of the genre known as ‘Blaxploitation’ my knowledge of it until 2 days ago was to the extent of what I saw on an episode of the Simpsons (’Next up on Blaxploitation theatre, The Blunch Black of Blotre Blame’). What did pique my interest however, was a clip I came across on Funny or Die about some Redneck hunter talking about Blaxploitation legend Rudy Ray Moore, better known as Dolemite. Me and Ricky had a good laugh at one part in particular*, so I thought I would share it with the rest of you jive ass turkey’s (WARNING: NSFW):

I then proceeded to investigate further into this genre when I came across a bunch of articles mentioning an upcoming release of a movie called Black Dynamite, starring everybody’s favorite Spawn, Michael Jai White. Here’s the synopsis followed by the trailer:

“This is the story of 1970s African-American action legend Black Dynamite. The Man killed his brother, pumped heroin into local orphanages, and flooded the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor. Black Dynamite was the one hero willing to fight The Man all the way from the blood-soaked city streets to the hallowed halls of the Honky House”

The movie also stars Arsenio Hall as a man named Tasty Freeze, Tommy Davidson as Cream Corn and martial artist Roger Yuan. By the looks of the trailer, Scott Sanders did a fantastic job capturing the 70’s era feel. You best drop a dime on this movie or Black Dynamite is gonna drop you, sucka.
