What are The Avalanches* up to these days? Other than a compilation and the occasional remix, mum has been the word on a follow-up to 2001’s groundbreaking ‘Since I Left You’.
I decided to check out their website yesterday, there was little in terms of news but I did come across a tasty clip that I had to share. Have you ever wondered where the 3500 samples they used came from? Well I don’t, but I can at least share a few they used for the albums title track. I’ve posted the album version first, then the ‘The Recipe’.
*For those of you that don’t know about this sample crazy Aussie DJ collective, wake up and smell the Vegemite and wiki their bio, because I’m too lazy to write one.
