Digitalism vs Cut Copy

Toronto – So I was listenin to Australia’s Cut Copy‘s album “In Ghost Colours” and I noticed a familiar riff/crescendo in the hit song “Hearts On Fire”

Check out the 2:20 mark of both songs. Are they similar? my ears say so.

The other song in question is the hit song from German electro dual Digitalism called ‘Zdarlight’.

    I don’t know man. I don’t really hear it, besides both being kind of a generic electro beat(s)

    Um, it’s a similar chord progression, that’s about it. And Cut Copy’s section only has three chords, with the last chord playing two bars, while Digitalism’s has a fourth chord in the last bar.

    I hear it. As early as about 30 seconds into the Cut Copy track, I recognized a very Digitalism-like progression.
