Toronto - Once in a while, I remember stuff like ‘oh right, I made a blog so I can write about music once in awhile’. Well, once in a while is now I guess. Jens Lekman is a Swedish person who makes really excellent music and he is probably good at assembling furniture. But first things first, music. This cd will be in the top 5 of the year, if it’s not at the top already. What kind of music is it you ask? I guess it’s pop music. But pop is short for popular, and I don’t know if it’s appropriate. It’s just good singer-songwriter music I guess. Very pleasant shit.
I don’t really buy cd’s these days, but if you put 20$ in my hand and be all like ‘you must buy a cd right now, or the world will explode’, then I would buy this cd. Now I am not the best person in terms of explaining music, so I will provide you with an actual song off the album. How sweet is that?
For all you mop head, tight jeans bitches, heres the pitchfork review:
Pitchfork Review
** After reading this, I realized I didn’t write anything about what this album sounds like. So what does it sound like? It sounds like summer, rolling hills of green green grass, most of it smokable. Feels like a care free day, where you can laze about lying down on the hills looking up at the blue skies and counting the clouds. Then some swedish babes come along and offer you some lemonade just when you feel a little parched. You remember that scene in Billy Madison, when Adam Sandler is visualizing what would happen if he won that tournament? thats what this album feels like. A grand ole happy time.
