Not being a punk or anything, I have never really understood the DIY culture, D-I-Y meaning..Do it Yourself. These are the people who make their own shirts and pants and stuff, and probably spend about 4 bucks on the material. One of the bartenders at my local is pure DIY. I mean, its alrite and stuff, but I am a nationalist, and if I didn’t buy t-shirts, then I am putting a few of my fellow chinamen’s out of job back in the motherland. I wouldn’t want that guy to go home to his kids and tell them that there’s no rice tonight because RICKY DECIDED TO MAKE SHIT HIMSELF.

anyways, that aside, this is a very good compilation full of acts i’ve never really heard of..well, besides the undertones obviously. its a really good compilation and sounds like the jam/clash whatever that stuff is. check it out.

listen to this

I have been listening to this album a helluva lot lately, and I think it is rather good. Good tracks include “Paper Doll” and “Say Hello”. The whole thing is pretty good and it clocks in at 32 minutes, which suits me well, since my attention span is extremely short.

what’s the music like, you ask? it’s pretty low key stuff. Mostly using an acoustic guitar I guess. Sufjan Stevens and some other peeps provide guest vocals on the tracks, although their contributions are mainly minimal. This is a good low-key, slow paced album, so it’s not something you would put on for your workout routine or anything.

i found this post from kissing suzy kolber to be most entertaining

Rex Grossman
