I practically fell out of my chair when this play happened yesterday during game 7. It was a pretty dull game up to this point, but man that play was about as good as any Torii Hunter or Jim Edmonds play from the past 5 years. I was cheering for the Mets, but since their 1-2-3-4-5-6 batters all decide to fall asleep in the bottom of the 8th and 9th, they lost and we get to watch Tony LaRussa continue to wear sunglasses at night during the World Series.
Funny thing, Carlos Beltran owns two toy poodles AND drives a 69 Camaro. I instantly thought about the David Chappell skit where he was going thru racial stereotypes and the spanish guy had the little angel that kept on saying “c’mon hommes, its leopard skin.”. Its horrible, but yes, thats what I was thinking at the time.
I must also now write about my general dislike for the bar Hoops, located at Yonge and College. I have only been there twice, and each time I have not particularly enjoyed it. First time I went, we went to watch the NBA draft, thinking a bar called “Hoops” would be a good place to watch it. When we got there, they didnt even have the draft on, and when we asked, they turned the channel on the big screen to the draft, but wouldn’t do the audio because someone put in a few bucks for a juke box. So about 15 of us basketball fans all looked at each other in disbelief and proceeded to bitch, and only after about 10 minutes of complaining, did they turn the draft audio on. Listen manager, your bar is called “Hoops”, you better show the draft when Toronto has the #1 overall pick.
I guess they do have a decent beer selection and large variety of food, which wasnt very good according to my coworkers. Last nite was a little better, if it wasn’t for some loud mouth drunk jackass who kept on screaming behind us. I don’t really encounter these folks much, as I imagine these types of people (probably named Stu or Ed) are usually relegated to small farming or mining towns in the middle of nowhere. It was a tad annoying.

Yeah…..Hoops has an issue with their protocols….Went their to watch the NBA all star game one year and of couse there was a wrestling special on at the same time. You can guess what got preference for sound.
Food is average….but for a sports bar its very convenient from my workspace so I go there quite regularily….oh…and you can’t forget the service which seem to be regularily given by 18-19 year old female servers who don’t seem to care about service.
